HoldFast Emergency and Track Access Points

It is absolutely vital that HoldFast panels can be installed and removed quickly and safely. Subcontractors will confirm that HoldFast have produced an ideal system for Emergency and Track Access Points (ETAPs).

HoldFast's state of the art manufacturing plant produces rubber panels incorporating a polyurathane binder providing high levels of skid resistance and durability.

Proven and Commended Countrywide
West Coast Mainline Installations HoldFast was awarded the contract to supply all ETAPs for the West Coast mainline.

To date, 60 single track 25 metre crossings have been used in single, double and treble locations. All phases of the West Coast development programme require ETAPs and HoldFast are supplying crossings for 102 locations rolling out across the next four years.

Duncan Thompson, Enabling Works Manager for the OLE Alliance, explains: "We looked at various options and decided rubber provided a faster installation time. We evaluated a German system and, for a range of reasons, decided the HoldFast system to be the best choice.

"We were particularly impressed with HoldFast's UK manufacturing facility in Halifax."

Emergency Access Points

Created to enable track access for emergency vehicles, HoldFast was called in four years after their original installation to extend the platform. This was achieved overnight with minium disruption and closure.
