HoldFast has developed a crossing system for light urban transit systems and the first installations are underway for Sheffield Light Rail Regeneration.

The HoldFast panels are being trialed initially in two major locations on the system. A total of 16 rubber panels will be installed at a busy pedestrian crossing for one side of twin track at the end of Commercial Street Bridge and will replace existing concrete tiles. 

The second pilot installation will take place on a road crossing where pedestrians, cars and the occasional heavy vehicle access East Hill School. The rubber panels will take the place of traditional timber sleepers, which have split and worn away over time. 

Pilot installations are due to take place within the next three-months and pending a short trial period will roll out at a number of additional points where concrete tiled areas and timber sleepers require replacing or upgrading.
