HoldFast’s Italian distributor Commel S.R.L’s Managing Director Mr. Fausto Enna has secured three level crossing orders for the Centre, North and South of Italy with Rete Ferroviaria Italiana SpA and with two major Track Maintenance Contractors, Salcef Spa and Ar.Fer Spa; the first of many installations to place on Italian soil.
The installations are due to take place within the next two months. The rubber panels will be fitted between reinforced concrete sleepers along a section of track in the North, on a double track level crossing in the South and four of the five in the Centre of Italy are to be installed on curved track.
HoldFast is also making waves in Eastern Europe. Mark Coates Smith has been asked to hold a lecture at the Railway Maintenance Conference at Miskolc in Hungary on 4th September 2008.
The introduction of HoldFast solutions comes at a key time for the Hungarian railway networks as decisions will be made on the development of a number of major crossings, including, the Badacsony pedestrian level crossing and the heavy-duty level crossing at the Szolnok Industrial park.
